The head of the Change and Reform parliamentary bloc MP Michel Aoun called for PM Fouad Saniora, the head of the Democratic Gathering MP Walid Jumblatt and the head of the Future movement MP Saad Hariri to be tried for harming relations with Syria.
Speaking to reporters following the weekly meeting for his bloc, Aoun rejected accusations that the Telecommunications Minister Gebran Bassil, was involved in wiretapping. "Any minister who has respect for himself should avoid violating Law 140," he told reporters at his residence in Rabieh.
On the upcoming parliamentary elections, Aoun confirmed that the battle would be directed against the Aounists, and it will be a universal war." The MP also said he would accept all contributions to the election campaigns, provided they were unconditional.
"Some sources have assured me that there has been a transfer of voters in some regions such as Zgharta, Batroun and Achrafieh," he said. The General also thanked Jumblatt for having revealed the composition and identity of the centrist blocs by naming his candidates in Baabda.
