Britain raps Israel for staging an attack on a UN building in Gaza, saying the attacks Tel Aviv has no defense for its conduct.

The assault prompted the international agency to freeze relief work in Gaza, where an 18-month blockade imposed by Israel has caused a humanitarian crisis.

Foreign Office Minister Lord Mark Malloch-Brown also touched on the issue, saying that the attacks reminded him of Israeli attacks on UN representatives in Lebanon in 2006.
France and the EU commission have voiced similar condemnation.
"I am deeply shocked and dismayed to learn of this Incident," said EU Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Louis Michel.
