Hezbollah wants dialogue with Britain to be public .

BEIRUT, March 6 — malaysianinsider — source : AP

Hezbollah says it rejected nearly a year of efforts by Britain to establish secret contacts with the Lebanese militant group, insisting instead that any talks be held in public.

Britain’s Foreign Office announced yesterday that it has re-established contact with the group’s political wing after it joined a unity government in Lebanon last year. That’s after Britain ceased contact with members of Hezbollah in 2005 and listed its military wing as a proscribed terrorist organisation last year.

The deputy leader of Hezbollah’s political bureau, Mahmoud Komati, said today that if Britain wants to engage the group, the talks should be held in public.
