The Following is the full text of UN Security-Council Resolution 1860 issued on the situation of Gaza at the UN Headquarters in New York on Thursday January 8, 2009. The Security Council calls for immediate, durable, fully respected ceasefire in Gaza leading to full withdrawal of Israeli forces. Resolution 1860 (2009) adopted by 14 in favor and abstention by the United States; also calls for unimpeded humanitarian assistance and welcomes Egyptian initiative. [read more]
