Meaning of "ceasefire" to the Zionist's regime.

Israeli firing phosphorous after ceasefire & Resumes Killing Civilians despite “Ceasefire” Declaration

Sun, 18 Jan 2009 01:08:10 GMT | Press TV

Israel has shelled Gaza with white phosphorus after it called for a unilateral ceasefire, in an obvious violation of its own declaration.

A Press TV correspondent on the ground in Gaza reported the event soon after the ceasefire the ceasefire was supposedly in afffect.

Earlier today, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that Tel Aviv will observe a 'unilateral ceasefire' at 2:00 a.m. local time (0000 GMT) after pounding Gaza non-stop for 22 consecutive days.

However, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhum responded that, Israel must stop all its aggression, completely withdraw from the Gaza Strip, lift the blockade, and open the border crossings.

Hamas also declared that it will not accept the presence of a single Israeli soldier in Gaza.

Israel later said that the troops will not leave Gaza and failed to address the issue of open border crossings in its ceasefire declaration.

Around 1,200 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 6,000 others have been wounded in the beleaguered Gaza strip since December 27.

Al Manar TV reported :

An eight-year old girl, identified as Nagham Al-Masri, was killed on Sunday in Beit Hanoun after Israeli occupation troops shot her northern Gaza with three of her family members. And another 20-year-old Palestinian was shot dead by occupation soldiers in the southern Gaza Strip, becoming the first fatality since Israel declared a unilateral ceasefire.

Maher Abu Rajila died after being shot in the chest as he was travelling in a vehicle near the town of Khan Yunis, medics said. News of his death came shortly after Palestinian medics took advantage of the halt in Israel's aggression on Gaza to rush to areas which had been inaccessible due to furious fighting. At least 95 bodies, including those of several children, were pulled from the rubble, mostly in the northern towns of Jabaliya and Beit Lahiya, bringing the overall toll from Israel's 22-day offensive 1300, including over 420 children and over 5450 others wounded.

Israeli occupation troops and Palestinian resistance fighters exchanged fire in northern Gaza on Sunday. Resistance fighters opened fire at an Israeli occupation army infantry patrol near the Jabalya refugee camp.
