Bolivia severs Israeli ties over Gaza

Bolivian Leader Evo Morales says his country has severed diplomatic ties with Israel in condemnation of Tel Aviv's aggression in Gaza Strip. 

"Given these grave crimes against life and humanity, Bolivia is breaking off diplomatic relations with Israel," President Morales was quoted by AFP as saying on Wednesday. 

This is while, the coastal region has lost 1,001 residents to 19 days of full-scale Israeli assaults, which have also injured 4,580. 

The development came after Venezuela expelled Israel's ambassador to Caracas in protest at the "Holocaust of Palestinians." 

Mauritania, Jordan, and Egypt initiated the display of anger in succession by recalling their envoys to Israel. 

Morales described the Israeli leader Shimon Peres as 'unworthy of his Nobel Peace Prize', since had done nothing to curb the invasion, he added. 

The Bolivian president also lashed out at the United Nations Security Council for issuing only a 'non-binding resolution', which calls to for immediate cessation of hostilities. Morales denounced body's response as 'lukewarm'.
