A very smart friend of mine has observed that BN has made a serious "strategic blunder" in not allowing ex-DPM Anwar Ibrahim to contest in the general election because the ban now allows the man to have more time and concentration of mind to strategise and also to rally more people for other Oppositionists and he would then contest in a by-election later to re-group with other parliamentary Oppositionists. Had Anwar been allowed to participate in the electoral contest, his time and energy could have just been confined and his movements bogged down within a single constituency where he, with thousands of tactical details to divert his mind, has to fight to win personally.
